Goals

Got Goals?

Do you have goals that you are struggling to reach? Things on your Bucket List that you want – want BAD – but you just can’t quite cross the finish line? If you answer is “Yes,” you need Deb Cheslow’s latest book, Remarkable Courage – A Systemized Strategy for Success. Courage is not the absence of fear; rather, it is feeling the fear and taking action in spite of it. In Remarkable Courage, Deb Cheslow shares a systemized strategy for success based on four foundational pillars – Discipline, Accountability, Standards and Systems. These are strategies that have been consistently used […]

Change Your Perspective – Change Your Business

One of my favorite books in the whole world is you2 (you-squared) by Price Pritchett.  It is only 37 pages long, so I have read it over and over and over again – even I can blast through 37 pages fairly quickly!  The book’s preface starts with a story about a fly in a hotel room that is valiantly (and futilely) trying to get to freedom through a closed window pane.  With each smack into the glass the fly tries harder and harder.  Across the room, not 15 feet away, is an open door.  If only the fly would turn […]

Making Space

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you just didn’t want to be in, but you were scared to make a change?  I can hear the responses in near unison – “Well DUH Deb!!!”  Here are a couple of examples to illustrate my point:  You are in a relationship that is going nowhere that you are unfulfilled and unhappy being a part of, but you figure it’s better than being alone.  You have a job, like I did, that you absolutely HATE, but you rationalize and justify that you are lucky to have it, so you stay put.  […]

I'll Do It Tomorrow…

Do you put off important tasks repeatedly? If your answer is yes, you’re not alone. In fact, procrastination afflicts the vast majority of people in one way or another.  Unfortunately, for some, procrastination has become such a bad habit that it prevents them from doing even the smallest of tasks and disrupts their life. Procrastinators work as many hours per day as other people (and often work longer hours) but they invest their time in the wrong activities. Some people procrastinate because they simply don’t understand how to prioritize. For others, procrastination is a reaction to a feeling of being […]

What Are YOUR Dreams?

Think about it – most of us as children were natural dreamers.  One day we wanted to be a doctor, the next day an astronaut or a veterinarian or a teacher or an explorer.  Anything was possible and there were absolutely no limitations!  Unfortunately as we grew up, we were told that daydreaming was for babies and we needed to “grow up” and be “reasonable” – we started relying on logic and weighed the pros and cons and one by one our dreams and our aspirations just withered on our vine of rationality.  Our dream machines became dysfunctional and rusty.  […]

Manifestation of a Dream

About 2 years ago, while Deb and I were writing The Simple Success Solution, I was struck with the idea to apply the concepts we teach in that book and in all of our programs and presentations to the subject of weight control and fitness.  I knew they worked because in the previous 6 months I had shed nearly 40 pounds using them.  I floated the idea to Deb who thought it was a great idea; however, I dismissed it shortly thereafter.  What did a former Air Force Instructor Pilot and a former University Program Manager know about writing a […]
