The level of success you achieve in life boils down to one major thing…
It’s not how smart you are…
Or how talented…
What skills you have acquired…
Or what kind of a family you were born into.
Your level of success will always be the average of the levels of success of the five people you spend the most time with.
Jim Rohn is the father of that particular quotable: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Think about it for a moment and see if it isn’t fairly accurate.
Who do you spend the most time with in any given day? Who are they? What do they do with their lives? How ambitious are they? How successful have they been? How happy, optimistic and enthusiastic are they?
Now, ask yourself if those people are really be people who will urge you on to the next level you want to get to. Do they push you forward when you come to them with new ideas, no matter what? Or do they tell you that your ideas won’t work?
It’s scary when you come to the realization that the people closest to you are the ones who are holding you back from the life of your dreams.
Make a choice of who you want to continue spending time with.
Don’t be afraid to lose some friends, support from your family or anything else if that means you start surrounding yourself with the “right” people – people who will raise your average – people who will urge you on to higher levels of achievement.
Don’t be content being the average of some average people – be the average of remarkable people.
